Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch of the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in China on September 23, 2026. The new flagship smartphones are set to bring large silicon-based batteries, 200-megapixel cameras, Leica imaging technology, a rear secondary display and HyperOS 4.
Xiaomi is preparing to introduce its next-generation flagship smartphones in China, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max scheduled to launch on September 23 at 7:00 PM local time. Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Gets an 8,500mAh Battery
One of the biggest highlights of the new series is its battery capacity.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 7,000mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max comes with an 8,500mAh battery.
That gives the Pro Max 1,500mAh more capacity than the Pro and 1,000mAh more than the previous-generation Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.
Xiaomi says the new battery cells use 32% silicon. Silicon can store considerably more energy than conventional graphite anodes, although silicon-based batteries also face challenges related to expansion and durability.
The larger capacity does not necessarily mean 21% longer battery life. Actual endurance will depend on the processor, display, software optimisation, network usage and individual usage patterns.
200MP Main and Periscope Cameras
Camera hardware is another major focus of the Xiaomi 18 Pro lineup.
Both smartphones are confirmed to feature:

Xiaomi 18 Pro Processor: What to Expect
Xiaomi has confirmed that the new smartphones use a 2nm platform, although the company has not yet officially disclosed all processor details.
The timing has fueled speculation about Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship Snapdragon processors. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit is scheduled for September 22–24 in Hawaii, with new Snapdragon 8 Elite chips expected to be introduced around the same period.
A 2nm manufacturing process generally allows manufacturers to pack more transistors into a smaller area and potentially improve performance and power efficiency. However, the final battery and performance gains will depend on the complete chip architecture and Xiaomi’s software optimisation.
Rear Secondary Display Returns
Xiaomi is also bringing back the secondary display on the rear of its flagship phones.
The rear screen was introduced with the Xiaomi 17 series. On the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro models, the display is expected to be larger and positioned flush with the camera module.
Xiaomi is also adding AI-powered generation features for the rear display. Users can describe the type of card or visual they want, with HyperOS 4 generating content designed for the secondary screen.
This could make the rear display more than a simple notification panel, giving users additional customisation options.

Xiaomi has not yet announced official pricing for the Xiaomi 18 Pro series.
